I have been writing all of my life as an author and freelance writer. I started writing poetry at the age of eight and had my first poem published in our local library’s monthly magazine. Thank you Mrs. Bishop, my third grade teacher, for encouraging and believing in me! Since then, I have written numerous unpublished works of poetry and several books which are being brought into publication.
My first children’s book, Crabbing With Granddad, is an autobiographical work about spending a day harvesting the Maryland Blue Crab. My grandfather, Buck Morgan, was a waterman and my hero. I wish I could relive every day I spent on the water with him.
My first novel, A Place to Call Home, was released on Monday, August 11 by my publisher, Sarah Book Publishing. It may be purchased through this website or on Amazon.com. It is also available as a Kindle Book.
I grew up in Southern Maryland, received my Bachelor’s Degree from Salisbury University, and graduated from the University of Maryland with a Master’s in Library and Information Science. A former librarian and teacher, I now live on the Eastern Shore of Maryland with my husband, three daughters, and two dogs.
