Amy would love to meet you!
Everyone knows Amy loves to travel! What could be better than traveling to meet readers? Amy would love the opportunity to meet you and talk to you about her books and about writing. Hear her story, ask questions, and share your love of reading with others.
Are you looking for someone to give a keynote address, lead or speak at a retreat, chat with your book club, participate in a writer’s conference, or teach a session about writing for kids or adults? Amy is happy to speak, lead, talk with, or teach your group.
Schedule Amy to visit your group by choosing an event:
Visit Your Book Club
Has your book club read one of my books? If so, I’d love to meet your members and chat about my books. I’ll give a 20-30 talk about my books, my writing process, and how I got started, then I’ll answer any questions your group has. Afterward, I’m happy to sign purchased books and sell additional copies of all of my titles.
The only fee would be my traveling and accommodation expenses, and I do ask that I be allowed to sign and sell my books. While in your area, I’d love to hold a signing and/or talk at a local bookstore or two.
Classroom or School Group Talks
As a former teacher and librarian, I love visiting schools. I have talked to several different grade levels on various topics.
Examples of Topics for School Visits:
– How to come up with a story and turn it into a book
– How to write a fairy tale – what elements must be included in your story
– The writing process inside and out
– The Maryland Blue Crab
There is no fee for school talks in the Mid-Atlantic area. A form would be sent to parents before the talk encouraging them to purchase one or more of my children’s books. I’m happy to talk to teachers and librarians outside of my local area to see if we can work out a visit!
Keynotes and Workshops
Are you looking for something different for your organization’s next conference or dinner? Let me share my story with your group. I promise to inspire them with how I made my dreams come true. My talk can be as short as five minutes or as long as thirty. I’ve talked to political groups, religious organizations, and breakfast clubs. No group is too big or too small.
Examples of Talks:
The Author’s Story
My Faith Journey
No Such Thing as Coincidence
Catholicism in The Chosen TV Series
Be a Martha and a Mary!
Examples of Workshops:
Writing Dialogue that Rings True
Settings that Take You Away
Pantsing vs Plotting
Fees are negotiable and include traveling and accommodation expenses. I also ask that I be allowed to sign and sell my books throughout the course of the event.
I also do workshops for aspiring writers or for anyone interested in improving their writing skills. I’ve spoken on writing dialogue, devising plots, self-publishing, and more.
While reading is my hobby, and writing is my career, learning about and sharing my Catholic faith is my passion. I’d love to share my passion with you and your parish. This is why I developed my first retreat, Finding Your Path Through Women of the Old Testament.
I will work with your parish to provide a full day or short evening of retreat and reflection for women of all ages. For a full day, I suggest a light breakfast and a tasty lunch be provided by your parish while I take care of the rest. The day will include Bible readings, short talks about the readings, and time for reflection and small-group discussion. Evenings retreats are less than two hours and can be done in person or online.
